Enemy of the Smuggler Tamil Movie Review: Big Money, Bigger Trouble!

You are currently viewing Enemy of the Smuggler Tamil Movie Review: Big Money, Bigger Trouble!

Enemy of the Smuggler brings crime, smuggling, and a massive heroin deal worth ₹25,000 crore into the picture. The story follows two boys from the slums who get involved in a dangerous mission to help a crime kingpin rise to power. But moving such a huge consignment is no child’s play! A fearless customs officer at Mundra Port is ready to spoil their plans. Will the smugglers outsmart the law, or will their million-crore dreams end behind bars? With so much money at stake, the game is certainly dangerous!

Directed by T. Samaya Murali, who also handles the original background score, the film explores the world of drug smuggling and organised crime. The storyline offers plenty of opportunities for suspense, action, and unexpected twists. However, a huge consignment and a high-stakes mission alone cannot make a thriller exciting. The screenplay needs to keep the audience on their toes. Otherwise, the only thing moving faster than the smuggling operation might be the audience’s patience!

JD Chakravarthy plays Lingam, Lal appears as Mathew Bhai, and Radhika Sarathkumar portrays Saradha. These experienced actors bring familiar faces to the crime drama, which depends heavily on strong characters and power struggles. However, their roles need enough depth and memorable moments to make an impact. A powerful cast is certainly an advantage, but even big names need equally strong writing to shine!

Saran Sakthi plays Amar, Bala Saravanan appears as Dheena, Sneha plays Pavithra, and Kaali Venkat portrays Selvam. Jaffer Sadiq appears as Jaffer, while Mime Gopi plays Rajan. T. Samaya Murali also appears as Murali Krishna. The supporting cast adds more characters and conflict to the story. However, with so many people involved, the screenplay must give everyone a meaningful role. Otherwise, it may feel like a crowded crime meeting where everyone has something to say but not everyone has something important to do!

On the technical side, T. Samaya Murali handles the direction and original background score, while Sam Daniel takes care of the music. The background score is important in building tension during action sequences and confrontations. However, music and background effects alone cannot create suspense if the storytelling fails to deliver. A crime thriller needs a gripping screenplay, smart twists, and proper pacing. After all, making noise is easy; keeping the audience hooked is the real challenge!

Verdict:

Enemy of the Smuggler has an interesting crime backdrop, a massive heroin consignment, and a familiar cast. However, the screenplay and narration need to deliver a stronger punch to make the film a gripping crime thriller. When the story deals with ₹25,000 crore, expectations naturally go sky-high. But a big-money operation does not guarantee big-screen excitement! The smugglers may have a massive consignment to move, but the film has a bigger responsibility: keeping the audience entertained until the end. Otherwise, the audience might be the first ones to make a quick escape!

Rating: 2.5/5

A massive smuggling deal, but does the thriller deliver a million-dollar experience? Not every big deal turns into a big entertainer!
