Ex Reunion Day is a short film that brings back memories of past relationships and explores what might happen if people who have separated from their former partners get a special day to meet again. With an approximate runtime of 24 minutes, the film presents different situations involving ex-lovers and their present lives. The concept makes us think about old memories, unfinished feelings and the choices people make after a breakup.

The short film features Ananth Nag, Misha Ghoshal, Ravi Kumar Ganesh, Harini Ramesh Krishnan, Vignesh Vijayan and Pooja Fia in important roles. Among the cast, Ananth Nag and Misha Ghoshal are familiar faces to Tamil audiences. Misha Ghoshal is particularly remembered for her appearances in films like Raja Rani and 7aum Arivu. Ravi Kumar Ganesh, who is also familiar on social media as a fitness trainer, and Harini Ramesh Krishnan, a social media influencer and actor, are part of the cast. Actress and model Pooja Fia also adds to the film’s ensemble.

The title itself clearly explains the central idea. The story opens with an announcement on an FM radio station declaring an official Ex Reunion Day. Following this announcement, Misha Ghoshal receives a text message from her former boyfriend expressing his wish to meet her. Similarly, Ananth Nag decides to meet his ex-girlfriend. From here, the film takes us through three different relationships, each with its own emotions and circumstances.

The first pair meets to share their feelings and find closure before moving on with their lives. Their relationship had ended because their families opposed their union due to caste and social status. The second pair have a different approach towards the reunion. The woman questions why she should restrict herself when her former partner is already leading a happy life. Their discussion takes an unexpected turn, and they decide to book a room. Meanwhile, the third pair choose not to meet at all. Both have moved on and are happy with their present partners. Their decision reflects the thought that once a relationship ends, there is no need to revisit the past, especially when life has moved forward.

The actors bring different shades of emotions to these relationship situations. Ananth Nag and Misha Ghoshal fit into the emotional side of the story, while Ravi Kumar Ganesh and Harini Ramesh Krishnan contribute to the film’s different relationship moments. Pooja Fia and Vignesh Vijayan are also part of the ensemble. The performances support the central concept, which focuses more on relationship choices and personal feelings than on dramatic moments.

Writer and director S. Siva Krishna has selected an interesting subject and presented three different perspectives within approximately 24 minutes. The narration moves around the central idea without making the film too lengthy. The film raises questions about breakups, family restrictions, personal freedom, emotional attachment and moving on. The melodious “Athey Veena” song is pleasant to listen to and catchy. Music director Sterling Nithya deserves appreciation for the musical contribution to the short film.

Presented by Dream Warrior Pictures, the short film is produced under the Sukra Films banner by S. Siva Krishna. The director’s choice of a different concept gives the short film an interesting subject to explore. The limited runtime keeps the storytelling focused, although some relationship situations could have been developed further to give the characters more emotional depth.

Overall, Ex Reunion Day leaves us with an interesting question: What would happen if an official announcement declared a special day for ex-lovers to reunite? Would people meet their former partners, share their old memories, look for closure or simply avoid them? Once a breakup happens, is there really a need to go back and reopen the past? The film leaves these questions for the audience to imagine and decide. It is an interesting concept that makes us think about relationships and the choices we make in life.
